Evolution
After we introduce the skin tone and the race, we focus on the evolution of Disney princesses. Looking at the timeline, we can find that there are three parts of the Disney princesses' evolution. Firstly, there is Classics era, which is representative by Snow white, Cinderella and Aurora. In the classic's period, there was the characteristic for these three princesses: they were passive, always waiting for rescue. When we talk about the traditional stereotype of Disney princesses, that must be beautiful, elegant, and gentle. In the story, princesses always believe in the true love, there have been the prince to save them and get marry. The classic generation's princesses have all the traits of their personalities. Cinderella said, "If you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." People find comfort in these animations, they can escape the reality for a while, and finding the dream in their deep heart. In these three animations, audiences are taken back to childhood, regain the purity of their hearts, and keep believing in themselves.

After that, we will move on to next period to find something different between two era's princesses.
Secondly, we introduce the renaissance era, the representative figure is
Ariel, Belle, Molly, Pocahontas, and Mulan. These generation instead of having
beauty or elegance are more likely to possess intelligence and brave. For
example, Mulan, a female soldier in a male-dominated army. Mulan's ability
doesn't fall behind anyone else, she even does better than the rest. This movie
proves that girls can do whatever they like, their thinking and action are not
restricted by the traditional values.
Then we talk about Pocahontas. The Disney animation song "Colors of the
wind" is not as famous as other movies, but there is a difference between colors
of the wind and the animation before it, which was adapted from real people
instead of fairy tales. This transformation has allowed Disney to transcend the
realm of fairy tales, encouraging people to chase the dream, no matter is
everything you want or what you loved. The renaissance era's princesses be
more initiative.
Finally, we come to New Age era. This generation is also known as the
independent woman era, including Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Moana, and
Raya. Tiana, who is come from 《The Princess and the Frog》. She is
completely devoted to opening her own restaurant. And she doesn't turn to
shortcuts or a man to get there, she works hard. As does Moana, who takes
on the adventure by herself, solves the problem, and successfully saves her
island. At the end, Moana become the cacique. The newest animation in
Disney is Raya and the last dragon. Raya and Moana have the same tune but
same result. They all go forward without fear in order to save their tribe.
These also the distinguish the New Age era and others era, as the woman of
this period are more courageous and independent. In Tangled, Rapunzel said,
"Venture outside you comfort zone, the rewards are worth it." I feel this
phrase can sum up this generation, how brave they are, and how they didn't
rely on anyone.

Snow White replied, "Remember you are the one who can fill the world
with sunshine." Molly said, "Sometimes we only see how people are different
from us. But if you look hard enough, you can see how much we're all alike."
Merida said," Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see
it." These three sentences come from three different eras. No matter which
generation they come from, the significant point is that they keep inspiring
people to be brave and have warm heart. Always have a dream in your mind and
believe it will come true.
